How can I objectively compare holiday providers?
In the present time, going on vacation has become a way out for many people and also an increasingly challenging thing to compare well. Because there are constant changes all over the world in what is allowed and what is not, and where you can just go and where you can’t, it is very important to take a close look at the holiday provider you choose to book your holiday.
When traveling abroad, for example, in this day and age it is very important to know to what extent your paid amount is covered if the trip cannot take place after all. Fortunately, this is clearly indicated by the providers who have arranged this well, after all, it has become a really important point. If it is not possible to quickly find clarity about this on the website of a particular provider, it is important to know this for sure.
Many comparison sites seem to give or even claim to give good, independent advice. However, make no mistake about the reason they do this. Most sites are a direct or indirect partner of the travel provider and therefore have an interest in you booking a particular holiday. As a result, it is actually difficult to find truly independent advice. A good way to really read what others have experienced is to read independent reviews. They are written by people who have had a real experience, as opposed to a company that makes money from the trip.
It is often useful to clearly write down the most important things for you before booking your vacation and what your budget is for the holiday. For example, do you want to book an adult only (i.e. without children being present) or do you want a pleasant family holiday with a large swimming pool and many activities? It is easy to lose track of all your wishes on the many booking sites, which is why you really want to have decided this in advance! This also ensures that you do not spend too much because you still have to correct everything afterwards.
We certainly do not recommend against booking with comparison sites or booking sites. Convenience serves people and it can be a nice, fast method to book a complete trip, for example. Also booking flights, rental cars and activities can often be arranged in 1 package and sometimes also with a nice discount. We do however believe that comparisons should be made and that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
