Deskmate

Deskmate is a UK-based furniture company founded by Ashley JP Lockwood in 2017. The company started in a coffee shop near Liverpool Street. After suffering from a back injury, Ashley sought a more affordable way to stand up while working. Unfortunately, he couldn’t afford to spend a fortune on an expensive standing desk. After much deliberation, JP decided to make his own. That’s how Deskmate was started.Deskmate began its operations with a single standing unit, manufactured using ee-flute (extra strong cardboard). To test their product appeal in the market, the founders had 100 pieces made and set up a shop and the nearby WeWork. The standing units were sold out the next morning.Over the years, Deskmate has grown immensely, with their current catalogue comprising a wide range of home office furniture. Some of the brands in stock include WFH Folding Desk, Standing Desks and various workstation accessories. The company sources all its raw materials locally.
