Stayforlong.com is an online booking platform dedicated to those looking for extended hotel stays. Founded in Barcelona, the company has emerged as a disruptor in the hospitality industry by addressing the needs of long-term travellers such as remote workers, digital nomads and families on extended holidays. The platform works with a wide range of hotels around the world, offering competitive rates for long-term stays that can range from a week to several months. Stayforlong’s website is designed to allow users to easily search and book accommodation, while an efficient customer service team ensures a smooth booking experience and quick resolution of any issues. What sets the platform apart is its commitment to securing discounts proportional to the length of stay, meaning that longer stays result in greater savings for customers. This pricing structure is a departure from the typical hospitality pricing model, where the cost per night is often static. Cancellation policies are also tailored to the needs of long-term travellers.

Wow where to start. Firstly, I have used Stayforlong several times over the past couple of years, and never had an issue. However trust me when I say when an issue does occur, they have the worst customer service.
I had booked our hotel in November 2023 on Black Friday and got a great deal. Everywhere had a great deal in November 2023 – but stupidly I decided to go with StayforLong. Everything was confirmed and I received my travel voucher. Fast forward to this year, and 3 weeks before travel they emailed me to let me know that they could not get me the SUITE I had booked, but have put me in a King accessible room (cheapest room), but would offer me a 5 % discount for the inconvenience. So not only did they drop me from one of the highest categories of rooms to the lowest, they did not consider the reason why we went for the Suite is due to the fact we get Executive Club Lounge access. Anyway 2 weeks going back and forth, countless conversations with their customer service team (which are useless as they have no authority, and all they say is that you will hear something in 48 hours) then you call in another 48 hours, and nothing still has happened.
I said to them that I would even be happy with an Executive King (still a downgrade from what I had booked, but at least would get me the lounge access). They said it wasn’t available, but when I went on their website I told them I could see that room type, and even sent them screenshots). Still no response.
I am now travelling in 6 days, and they still did not respond, so I had no choice but to cancel the reservation as they were going to take the money from my card. So I have now booked directly with the hotel for 3 times the cost of what I secured back in November 2023, as the prices last year were of course much cheaper than just a week before travel.
Their “confirmed booking” means nothing, if they can change your room type just before travel how can you ever trust them as a company. No one took any ownership of this, I asked to speak to a manager several times – but apparently managers do not speak to the lowly customer.
I am a seasoned traveller and spend tens of thousands of pounds a year on travel. I would implore you to not waste your time and effort on this company, and give yourself the peace of mind to book with a company that has a decent customer service department, and when a confirmed booking really is a confirmed booking. Do not be fooled with their slightly cheaper prices, as what is the point when you have to go through unwarranted stress just before you travel. I’m just so glad I found out before we went, reading some reviews now – some people have turned up at their hotel and Stayforlong hasn’t even made the booking, so I count myself lucky in that respect.

We arrived at the hotel on Sunday 4th February and we asked to check in. I immediately noticed that they were checking me into a different room to the one I had booked. The lady checking me in assured me that this is the room that STAYFORLONG had allocated to me. I presented a copy of my booking form that clearly was not the room I had booked. After a one-hour check in I was clearly not getting anywhere. It was also Sunday so there were managers around so I took the down graded room with an understanding that I would meet the manager to discuss the error and be upgraded to the room I had paid for.
I finally met the General Manager Customer Service at 11.30 am (having waited since 9.00 am ). The manager said that the hotel only had six rooms of the type I had reserved and they were all booked out to other people. The manager said that it was not their fault that STAYFORLONG had allocated the wrong room and I would need to take the matter up with them.
Following 19 attempts to get hold of STAYFORLONG I spoke to a lady who promised to investigate and come back to me . She never came back to me so I made a further 7 calls and got hold of another lady who promised exactly the same thing but again nothing happened, On the third day I phoned multiple times again and my call was answered eventually by another lady who looked up my notes and told me that a TECHNICAL ERROR HAD OCCURRED and declared that she was able to offer me compensation of 5%. When I refused to accept this derisory amount she upped it to 10% with an understanding that this compensation did not stop me from pursuing the remainder of the difference in the cost of the room which amounted to $1288 following the payment of compensation of $576.
I have researched STAYFORLONG who have only paid out the 10% and found out that they buy most of their rooms from a third party wholesaler called HOTEL ROOMS. I also found out that it is HOTEL ROOMS who makes the booking with the hotel on behalf of the customer. STAYFORLONG have no contact or relationship with the hotel. They told me that my claim should be against HOTEL ROOMS who had made the TECHNICAL ERROR. HOTEL ROOMS are not available for contact by the general public. So in short all parties involved have agreed there was an error made but none claim it was their fault.
Interestingly the GM Operations of the hotel told me that they only have six of the room type I booked and they have never offered these to HOTEL ROOMS or any other wholesaler out there.
I expect STAYFORLONG and HOTEL ROOMS do this on a regular basis and presumably share the money they have stolen from people like me,
Tatiana
I said Stayforlong I will put every their email or answer on my request on the Google review.
They changed slightly tone but still investigattion going on.
It’s only 3 bad reviews in my life- but Stayforlong is definitely earned it.
I booked and paid for one night hotel for December 2024 ( not 2023) so year advance £384 pound on Stayforlong without cancellation fees and full refund. But unfortunately we changed our plans and I booked holiday for different destination.
Last year we used a few times Stayforlong for Orlando Yachts Club and universal studios hotels. Always was good.
So our plans are changed and I canceled the hotel on the Stayforlong for NYC and got back only £100 refund. Rest £284 can’t get.
Stayforlong customer service said they refunded- my bank said they can’t see£284.00 refund.
Stayforlong replied.

My bank investigation
Hi Tatiana, Anna here.
Thanks for sending this over.
Our team did get back and confirm the following:
‘We can see the refund for £100 that was created on the 28th December and Cleared on the same day and we can see the redemption of £284 which was created on the 17th November but there we cannot see any refund for £284 from Stay for long. I would advise to check with the merchant again regarding the same payment as if the transaction is not on our system and we are not able to do much in this case.’
I have passed on this confirmation to our payments team, who will review this as soon as possible.
Once we have an update, we will be sure to let you know.
Many thanks,
Anna
After many emails – no refund!!!!!! Got 10 emails with refund transactions number- but no money!!!!!!!!
It’s unbelievable. But on the company LinkedIn
Stay for long have wonderful time celebrating they are Christmas and New Year. !!!!!!!
As Stayforlong registers in Spain- it’s mean
According to the Association of Payment and Clearing Services (Apacs), the UK bank clearing system, if the foreign bank is in the EU, then it is the one responsible for sorting out the missing payment.
EU legislation states that it is the responsibility of the sending bank to trace – and if necessary, re-issue – a payment that doesn’t arrive at the receiving bank.
So why do I get all emails to force me to check this missing refund.
Pls Stayforlong you have to check where is my refund.

My family planned a beautiful Italian vacation. We stayed in many cities all over the country. We booked one of our hotels with StayForLong.com in Sorrento, Italy, because they had what looked like an amazing price for a 5-star hotel. This was the biggest mistake of our trip.
We arrived at our hotel and they had no record of our reservation and they were completely full. They were very adamant that they do not work with StayForLong.com, because of issues like this. I showed them the listing and confirmation, they called customer service for the site. No answer. The line was busy. Finally, we got through on the US customer service line. They proceeded to offer to cancel our reservation or we could accept another hotel they offered that was a 1/5th the cost of the one we booked.
This is a classic bait-and-switch scam. They never even set up the reservation with the hotel. They charged my credit card and offered a less valuable option for the same price.
I will NEVER book with these SCAMMERS again and I will do my best to ensure no one else falls prey to their FRAUDULENT business practices.
