HILLINGAR Limited, a UK-based specialist supply chain consultancy, was concerned for some of its clients and their staff. Various companies had employees who had to work alone in offices and warehouses. A number of them worked nights. Although most of the duties were not intrinsically dangerous, there was still a nerd to ensure an employer’s duty of care was covered in its entirety. This observation led to the creation of MyTeamSafe, a solution for employees working alone. The application is designed to manage risks at the workplace among lone workers. It negates the need to leave employees in the hands of a third-party call centre.The company tested MyTeamSafe on a few clients and then developed the tool into a fully functional system following positive responses. MyTeamSafe is robust, lightweight and highly customisable. It’s available as an app and web dashboard. Supervisors can check in with their teams, and lone workers can keep in touch with supervisors using the platform. Some of the features on MyTeamSafe include location tracking, a panic alarm, notes and automated voice calls. The system caters to salespeople on the road, architects on site visits, ad hoc home workers, freelancers, gardeners, and any employee that has to work without direct supervision. MyTeamSafe is available on Windows, Android and Apple.
